NVIDIA Grant

Prof George Magoulas received an NVIDIA Grant to support research on Deep Learning Ensembles. In this project, Alan Mosca will investigate novel methods for efficient creation and training of deep learning ensembles, and will develop tools for parallel training of deep learning ensembles on multiple GPUs.

BIDA PhD Studentship call

Applications are invited for a full-time PhD studentship in Data Analytics, with an emphasis on Online Social Networks Analysis, starting in the Academic year 2016-17.

The Phd Scholarship is fully funded, covering fees at Home/EU rate, plus an annual stipend set at Research Council rates (currently £16,296).

The PhD student will be supervised by Dr Alessandro Provetti whom applicants may contact for further information.

The closing date for applications is 15 September 2016.

£1million research grant from AHRC to map UK's museums

Dr Fiona Candlin, Reader in Museum Studies, and Prof Alex Poulovassilis, Director of the Birkbeck Knowledge Lab, have been awarded £1,012,460 by the Arts and Humanities Research Council for a new project to map and analyse the emergence, character and development of the UK independent museums sector from 1960-2020. Carsten Fuhs invited speaker at Satisfiability Modulo Theories workshop
