MSc in Advanced Information Systems

Attendance

Up to four days a week full-time, up to three evenings a week part-time, October-September.

Special Features

The programme has been designed to meet the needs of both full-time students wishing to advance their knowledge of computing and information systems before embarking on a career in IT or on a research degree, and part-time students already working in the IT sector. The programme has a significant research element as several of the modules include investigation into recent research advances.

Entry Requirements

A good first degree or MSc in Computer Science. Joint-honours computing graduates may also be eligible provided they have covered the necessary prerequisite material at the appropriate level.

Prerequisite Knowledge

The normal entrance requirements are a good first degree or MSc in Computer Science, with the syllabus covering a substantial amount of programming, preferably in an object-oriented language. It is also expected that students will usually have completed at least introductory courses on computer networks and databases. Joint-honours computing graduates may also be eligible for entry provided they have covered the necessary prerequisite material.
