- The Foundation Degree in Web Technologies (FdWT) includes web design and development, database design and development, programming, information and work-related skills. The FdWT offers advanced modules in common with our BSc in Information Systems and Computing and Certificate of Higher Education in Web Design Technologies
- To gain the FdWT, you will need to successfully complete modules totalling 240 CATS points. In addition, throughout the FdWT, all students take Personal Development Planning. All modules, unless stated otherwise, are half modules (15 CATS points).
- FdWT Year 1: Fundamentals of IT; Introduction to Web Authoring using XHTML and CSS; Problem Solving for Programming; Introduction to Database Technology; Web Authoring using Dreamweaver; JavaScript
- FdWT Year 2: Introduction to Computer Systems; Introduction to Programming; Maths for Computing; Working in Teams; Option 1; Option 2
- FdWT Year 3: Work-related Project (30 Credits); Software and Programming; Information Systems Management
- Possible options (subject to availability): Web Programming using PHP; Building Web Applications using MySQL and PHP; XML; Developing Multimedia Assets using Fireworks and Flash; Multimedia Web Programming using Flash and ActionScript; E-business.
