MSc in Information Systems and Management

Module Outlines

Full-time students follow 8 taught modules and take a 3-4 month project. Part-time students follow 4 taught modules in each of the two years and the project component in the second year.

The modules in Group 1 are compulsory for all students, though holders of the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner qualification will be exempt from two-thirds of the IS module.

The modules in Group 2 are compulsory for students who do not have a Computing or Information Systems Degree or significant experience in implementing Information Systems

A maximum of two of the four modules in Group 3 may be taken (these are Level 6 modules):

The optional modules in Group 4 may be freely chosen. Students may not attempt more than 8 modules.

The list of modules is not exhaustive and students may request to take other relevant modules from the Masters programmes of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems or the Department of Management, subject to availability and the approval of the Programme Director.

Note that not all of the modules listed may be offered every year. Note also that, in any one year, some modules may be offered only during the day or only in the evening.
