Introduction
Two phenomena have probably affected modern data analysts' lives more than anything else. First, the size
of real-world data sets is getting increasingly large, especially during the last decade or so. Second, modern
computational methods and tools are being developed which add further capability to traditional statistical
analysis tools. These two developments have created a new range of problems and challenges for analysts,
as well as new opportunities for intelligent systems in data analysis.
IDA-97, the Second International Symposium on Intelligent Data Analysis, aims to provide an international
forum for the discussion of these topics. IDA-97 will take place in Birkbeck College, University of London,
4-6th August 1997. We are keen to offer IDA-97 delegates high-quality technical and exhibition
programmes which reflect the latest research, development and products in this exciting field.
IDA-97 will be the venue to show others that your products are the ones that they should use for intelligent
data analysis. A tabletop Exhibition will run alongside the Conference, which will include latest software
and publications in the field. There will be a limited number of spaces available and potential exhibitors are
encouraged to book early.
Deadline for registration of exhibitors is June 2, 1997
