Computational Intelligence Research Group

The School is a long-established centre of expertise in intelligent systems and computational intelligence. In 2005, we hosted the United Kingdom workshop on Computational Intelligence. The group's research includes knowledge representation and reasoning, knowledge discovery and data mining, as well as behaviour modelling both at the systems level and computationally. In particular, we conduct research in modal logics and ontologies, cluster analysis and classification, evolutionary, multi-agent and nature inspired computations, computer vision, web information retrieval, user-adaptive systems, text and natural language processing, and bioinformatics.

We collaborate with many other research groups, both nationally and internationally, and we have a number of ongoing research projects funded by BBSRC, EPSRC, Wellcome Trust, etc. Several group members are active within the London Knowledge Lab.
