Information Management and Web Technologies Research Group

The Department is one of the leading centres for research in information and knowledge management in the U.K. The group's research focuses on information management, integration and personalisation; web information retrieval and user interaction with the web; semantic web technologies, including XML, RDF and web services; understanding complex networks; ubiquitous and pervasive computing, data mining; e-business technologies, learning environments; information systems development and deployment; and the history of computing.

The group collaborates extensively with other U.K. research groups and industry in multi-disciplinary research projects in areas such as bioinformatics, e-learning, e-science, crime informatics, health informatics and chemical engineering. Several group members are active within the London Knowledge Lab, which aims to explore the ways in which digital technologies and new media are shaping the future of learning and knowledge.
