Data Science taxonomy and its use for research analysis

I am going to present a 4-5 layer taxonomy for Data Science extracted from the Classification of Computing Systems by ACM (2012), updated by supplementing it with some additional leaves.

Two applications will be described:

1) The assessment of the level of research results compared to conventional measures of citation and merit.
2) The analysis of research tendencies based on 17600 publications from 17 Springer journals 1998-2017.

Two novel techniques that are involved, linear stratification and parsimonious lifting in taxonomies, will also be discussed.
