The course has three main strands: (1) Technical Foundations, (2) Core search and navigation technologies and (3) Emerging technologies.

Aims

To familiarize the student with the main technologies that underpin search and navigation on the World-Wide-Web.

Some programming ability. ISD module for MSc IT or MSc CIC students; experience with a modern programming language otherwise.
