Information Management and Web Technologies Group

The School is a leading centre of expertise in data and knowledge management, and more recently has expanded its research into the area of World Wide Web technologies. The group's research focusses on principles and applications of data and knowledge management, including: data models and languages, new architectures for databases and knowledge bases, information integration, XML technologies, grid computing, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, multimedia information, management of web information, web information retrieval, and user interaction with the web. We collaborate with many other research groups internationally, and have a number of ongoing research projects funded by the EPSRC, BBSRC and EU. Several group members are active within the new London Knowledge Lab. Our current research activities include the following.
