MSc and MScAIS Search Optimization tips


Birkbeck provides MSc - MScAIS course where the students are given the task for Search Optimization.
Following are some tips to optimize yourwebpage for search Engine by Mahadev Semwal, an MScAIS Search Engine Optimization student in Birkbeck college:
1. Do not link your various websites as search engine might penalise you for that.
Google can search whois data and also the IP address of the provider and can detectthe cheating and spam.
2. Make sure you use alt tags and titles properly to reflect the content.
3. Make sure the search keywords you wish to target are in the most important section and appears within the first few sentences.
4. Do not try to cheat or link from unrelated sites to increase the rating. Search engines are cleverer.
5. Make sure you have relevant content in the web page for the keywords you are planning to target.
6. Submit the website to search engines manutally if not already indexed by the search engines.
7. Link to the relevant websites, if possible.
8. Update your website frequently.
9. Put the keywords at multiple places within the document but make sure it is relevant to avoid being classified as spam by search engines.
10.Make sure the robots has got the values index,follow in the meta tags.
11.Put the keyword in the title tag.
12.Put the keyword in the link which is pointing to the page.
13.Put the keyword in the visible text.
14.Put the keyword in the more important fonts like h1,bold, strong,h2,...
15.If the keyword is in URL it is ranked higher.
