ญญญญญญญญญ

Project outline and aims

Current trackball designs for the Human, Computer interface are adversely affected by mechanical wear, mechanical noise, contamination, limits of resolution, mechanical size, mechanical bias and cost. The aim of this project is to investigate a range of candidates for new trackball designs and to build and test a prototype trackball for the most promising candidate. This project is funded by the DTI under the KTP programme (formerly the Teaching company Scheme, TCS). The company partner is Traxsys, Ringwood, Hampshire, and the Associate is Arfan Ali, who is employed by the University of Reading. The project began in July 2002 and will run for two years.
